Weathered European Style

Pretty, romantic and full of old-world style, the weathered European look is all about infusing your home with a sense of history. Think about walking through a centuries-old town and then try to bring some of that feeling in to your home. Look for pieces of architectural salvage – old doors, pieces of wrought iron, vintage corbels, old lanterns – and then mix them with romantic touches like silk fabrics, crystal and gilt finishes. This look mixes the rough and the romantic so look for items that demonstrate both. The color palette should be full of neutrals like stone and grey to create the feeling of cobblestone streets and old buildings. Mix it with plum and mauve to create a sense of centuries-old royalty.
