The best way to describe Miami Chic is crisp, cool and sleek. It's minimal and modern yet it's got style to spare.
Miami chic is defined by low, streamlined furniture; lots of white with hits of silver, turquoise and some of the tropical colors inspired by Miami's Art Deco buildings; and lots of glass. You'll find no decorative embellishments like tassels or fringe and accessories should be kept to a minimum (save for a modern sculpture or two). Avoid heavy fabrics like velvet and steer clear of luxurious silks; opt instead for white leather, linen and cotton, and don't forget to add some Lucite. The most important thing about this style is to keep it spare and linear. This is chic, not cozy.
When you decorate in Miami chic style you can almost to feel the warm ocean breezes, even when the mercury falls.
