Use the Same Trim and Ceiling Color Throughout Your Home

The Eye Flows from Room to Room

From About.com

Rooms visibly flow into each other when ceilings and trim are harmonious.

It makes sense that you'd want different colored walls in different rooms. But it's also true that rooms in a home should flow, one into another.

For a subtle movement from room to room, use the same color white paint for all the ceilings and the trim throughout. The colored walls will give character to each space but the consistent white will let the rooms relate.

My favorite white is Dunn Edwards "Swiss Coffee," a soft, delicate creamy white. I don't advise a stark white anywhere, but whites can be yellow, grey, pink, blue, and cream. Choose the shade that compliments our home and stick with it.
