"Lisa Hogan, an interior decorator residing on the coast of North Carolina purchased a newly built three bedroom, two and a half bath home with her husband in the Spring of 2005. Her home is located in a subdivision where all of the homes are “cut from the same cloth” so to speak. Although Lisa loved the layout she felt it lacked character and needed personality. A long time fan of the comfort and coziness Cottage Style evokes she began to work her magic in her 1550 square foot home. Making her house feel like Home consisted of blending new furniture and accessories with vintage, and redesigned flea market finds."
“I am a very nostalgic person and tend to gravitate toward things that remind me of the past," she explains. "My home is filled with things that speak to me and just make me “feel” good. It’s very personal and comfortable." Decorating after all, is not just about how a space looks. A home should appeal to all our senses, both mentally and physically. It’s all about how it makes us feel when we walk in the door.”
Many thanks to Lisa Hogan for providing all of the information about her home. To learn more about her work please visit her website.
