And, though meant for the candy dish, weve come up with a few ways to use these little treasures on just-for-fun treats and decorations. All are easy and fun try one this week!
- Ribbon of Love
Hot glue candies to a sturdy grosgrain ribbon. Once the glue is set, use the ribbon to decorate your table: wrap around a napkin, lay on a placemat, or use double-face tape to attach to the outside of a vase of flowers.
- I Heart You Card
Create a homemade Valentine using the words of the candy to spell out your message. Or, write a sentence or two or even a love poem and use the candy sayings to fill in for some of the words for a fun and personalized memento!
- Gift Wrap Adornment
Wrap up your Valentine gift and hot glue candies on top. Glue the hearts in a line along each ribbon or cover the entire top of the package with sweet messages.
- Hide a Gift
Do you have a small gift such as a ring or pendant for your sweetheart? Fill a glass vase half full of candies, add your gift (safely wrapped in tissue or a small plastic bag, then fill to the top with more candies.
- Miniature Candy Wreath
Again using hot glue, attach candies to a 1-1/2 inch wide circle of cardboard about 6 inches in diameter. Place the bottom layer if candy so each heart sticks over the edge about 1/4 of an inch. Then, stack up more hearts on top of the first layer to cover all of the cardboard. Loop a pretty sheer ribbon around the top and tie a bow.
- Cupcake Surprise
Before frosting a batch of cupcakes, cut a slit in the top of each and slip in a candy heart. Frost as usual, topping with another candy heart. Eat with a fork, or warn your guests before they bite just in case!
