Is your home office looking a little drab? Spruce it up with this easy diy wallpaper project. Covering an industrial style filing cabinet is a great way to add a shot of color and pattern to your workspace.
Decide what part of the cabinet you want covered. You can do the whole thing, just the drawers, or vice versa. If you're only doing part of it you'll likely want to paint the rest.
Decide what part of the cabinet you want covered. You can do the whole thing, just the drawers, or vice versa. If you're only doing part of it you'll likely want to paint the rest.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: Two hours or less (plus drying time)
Here's How:
- If the cabinet has handles, remove them.
- Paint the part of the cabinet you don't want covered with spray paint or use a roller with a high gloss latex. Allow to dry.
- Apply Mod Podge to the area that will be covered with paper.
- Apply the paper immediately and smooth out any air bubbles with a ruler.
- Once it's dry cut around the edges with a sharp utility knife OR fold the edges over – it depends what part of the cabinet you're covering.
- Apply another coat of Mod Podge over the paper.
- Reattach the handles or put new ones on.
