for About.com

The Pasadena Showcase House of Design is the longest running designer showhouse in the United States. It is the site of the 42nd annual fundraising effort of the Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts.

Over the years, more than $14 million has been raised to provide opportunities for young people to discover, enjoy, and study classical music. This magnificent 12,500 square foot Monterey Colonial style home, designed by Reginald D. Johnson, sits on over two acres in the estate area of Pasadena.

More than 30 Interior Designers and 7 Exterior Designers have transformed the estate, built in 1928, and donated their talents to this spectacular showplace. Throughout the course of the Showcase House, meals are offered and items are for sale at the Marketplace.

View some of the rooms in this slide show and make plans to visit if you are in Southern California.
