Painting Concrete

Answer: You could use floor paints, but many projects have been done with regular paint protected with topcoats of a clear polyurethane finish.

See project instructions for painting a concrete floor.

Concrete stains are also available and can create some interesting effects, even sort of a marble look. Your local paint outlet should be able to give you more specific advice and recommend the appropriate products and colors for your project.

If you are going to use area rugs on top of a concrete floor be sure to use sheets of the non-slip waffle lining underneath. This are available at home improvement and carpet stores.
