Figuring out what colors go together isn't always easy, particularly when it comes to home décor. These are the colors you'll be surrounding yourself with so you want to make sure they suit your tastes and make you feel comfortable in your home. It's an important decision.
To give you a few ideas and make it a little easier here are a few tried and true color combinations that are guaranteed to make your home look great.
Black and White
The easiest color scheme to work with is black and white. The reason is because it looks sophisticated and elegant on its own, but it's also accepting of every other color. So it's very easy to inject life into a black and white room by adding a third color (preferably something bold and bright like hot pink, yellow orange).
Blue and White
Blue and white might just be the most popular color combo in history, perhaps because it's so calm and soothing. Whether it's the dark blue and white of classic toile or Chinese pottery, or a pretty soft blue and cream palette, this simple color scheme works everywhere.
Brown and Blue
One of the reasons brown and blue makes for such a great color combination is that it can be mixed with just about any other accent color – orange, yellow, silver, purple; the list goes on. Typically this color scheme works best when it's a light or soft blue as opposed to a shade of navy.
Turquoise and Red
Turquoise and red is an energetic but not overwhelming color combination. It lends itself well to contemporary spaces and makes any room instantly happy. Check out these photos from House of Turquoise for some examples.

Pink and Green
This is a traditionally feminine palette that is reminiscent of spring garden parties. It's undeniably fresh and soft and looks great in areas that have a warm climate all year round. Very Palm Beach.

Peacock Blue and Lime Green
This is a fairly new color combination but it's not showing any signs of disappearing. For a fresh take on this look try painting the walls green (lime, chartreuse, avocado or olive) and using dark, peacock blue furniture and accents. Alternatively, for a really stylish and dramatic room cover the walls in blue and use green furniture and accents. To up the glam factor add some hits of gold.
White and Silver
For those of you who like a really simple and elegant combination nothing beats silver and white. It's clean, simple, and just a little bit glamorous. It suits contemporary spaces very well but can also be used in a very traditional way. The best way to use this color combination is to primarily use different shades of white for the walls and furniture and then gently layer it with silver accessories.
