Holiday Front Door Decor

Ways to Go From OK to Wonderful

When it comes time to decorate your home for Christmas and the winter holidays, you'll probably start with a Christmas tree and interior decorations. But don't forget your front door, the first thing your guests will see as they come in and out to deliver goodies and gifts through the season.

The entrance to a home sets the tone for the holidays more than any other time of year, said Kevin Pine, product marketing manager for Jeld-Wen, manufacturer of reliable windows and doors.

Whether decorating a traditional Eastern home, a beach front bungalow or a Southwestern ranch, natural elements that grow locally can highlight a the entry. Mr. Pine suggests that we look beyond decorations found at the local craft store for inspiration in decorating it. Instead of using artificial decorative picks, look for natural grasses, fruits, leaves, or sea shells.
