We've used leaves from the garden for our tutorial. You might use lemon leaves, which are not hard to find. Using two different types of greens adds texture and forms a foundation for the flower stems.
Be sure to remove the leaves from the part of the stem that will go into the water. Leaves in water cause the water to discolor quickly.
