And the Winner Is....
First, THANK YOU TO EVERYONE
who posted Dorm Decor Ideas!

There were dozens of TERRIFIC creative ideas submitted on decorating a Dorm Room, and these will inspire many new students to get out there and find their own dorm "look".

Frankly we think ALL of these are great ideas, and it was very difficult to decide.... but since we have to choose -- here is the list of the winning dorm decor ideas --

1st Prize!! ~ Tom advocates putting up specialized lighting and likes the 2 track fixtures available at IKEA. Check out his other creative ideas for every area of a dorm room!

2nd Place ~ Andrea used strips of sheer fabric attached with silver thumb tacks to the ceiling for an airy calming look. She also suggested rolling up a fluffy comforter to place on the long side of the bed against the wall, then setting a bunch of pillows up against it for an instant sofa. Great ideas Andrea!!

3rd Place ~ MissFrog03 found that 3M's Command Hooks are the "greatest innovations of the century" and used them to hold up icicle lights around the perimeter of the room, for a soft, soothing light. See her other fun and practical suggestions too.

4th Place ~ Jaime suggested re-covering the ugly existing draperies with colorful fabric or sheeting, attached with simple safety pins.

More Great Ideas...

~ BeccaSue's ideal themed dorm room includes an Oriental screen, Chinese lanterns, and framed Japanese characters. Maybe there's a designer in the making here!

~ Suanne plugged in strings of Christmas lights and strung them around the room for mood lighting, made fabric doors, photo collages, and a window sill memory area! Nice!

~ Amy put scrapbook paper inside inexpensive frames, then added her favorite photos on top. Good idea!

~ Tipple2 makes pillows out of the legs of an old pair of jeans and uses inexpensive bandanas as a colorful pillow covering and uses poster gum to attach favorite laminated pictures to the wall. We love this!

Your creativity is appreciated--
THANKS AGAIN!
