Need something fast for the center of your Thanksgiving table?

As we gather to give thanks and enjoy time with family and friends, Thanksgiving tables will take center stage. If you haven't decided what to put in the center of your table, these quick and beautiful centerpiece ideas may give you some inspiration.

Most of these can be put together in 15 minutes or less using ingredients from your yard and the grocery store.

The only trick may be quantity. Instead of a pair of candlesticks, use 3 pair. Instead of one pumpkin, use 5. This will give a rich abundant look with little expense.

Choose one and make something beautiful this week!

Candles and Leaves

  • candlesticks and candles
  • preserved or fresh leaves or branches

Arrange candlesticks (or a variety of pillar candles) randomly down the table, with tallest ones in the center. Set fall leaves on the tabletop around the bases of the candlesticks. If you wish, decorate with a few pinecones, miniature turkeys, or even foil-wrapped chocolate turkeys.

      - Tip: When using fresh leaves make sure they are not moist so wood isn't damaged. To make the arrangement portable, set a tray underneath.
      - More: For another way to use candles, see our Limes, Candle, and Roses Arrangement.

    Potted Green Plant

  • green plant (ivy is nice)
  • fall leaves
  • mini pumpkins

Choose one beautiful green plant with trailing branches such as an ivy. Place it in the center of the table (in a basket, cache pot, hollowed out pumpkin, or even a soup tureen). Insert a few fall leaves into the plant and add a few more down the table. Nestle several mini pumpkins either into the plant or near the trailing vines.

      - Tip: If you have a large pumpkin left from Halloween, hollow it out and use it for a unique and seasonal cache pot for a potted plant. Be sure to use a plastic water tray inside the pumpkin (under the plant).
      - More: For another way to use fall materials, see our Pine Cone and Twigs Arrangement.
