Cedar Wreath
Sprigs of cedar are arranged in a circle underneath each placesetting for a pretty and inexpensive natural wreath. (See photo below)

Leaf Boughs
Any flat leaf could be used, (cedar, lemon, camellia, etc.). Arrange it loosely as we've done here, or use a dot of hot glue to attach stems to a painted (or fabric covered) cardboard round.

Patterned Arrangement
Here's an alternate method of arranging cedar in a sunburst pattern.
Tip: Arrange so stems don't overlap too much in the center so that the plate or bowl set on top won't wobble.

Soup Presentation
A soup bowl is set atop the cedar for a pretty holiday look. A glass plate could be used instead, topped with the salad course.

Glitterati
Multi-colored glitter is sprinkled on each placemat, and under a clear soup bowl. This is a festive look for New Year's Eve.

Sparkle City
Closeup of the glitter treatment. Use on the placemat and down the tabletop.
Tip: Use glitter sparingly, and only on decorative plates, so none gets into food.
