Test colors before you paint!

When you're getting ready to paint a room, it's important not to just buy a gallon and hope the color is right. You should test colors on a small area of the room you'll be painting before making the final decision.

Many paint companies offer sample jars of 2 ounces to 4 ounces by mail order or in stores. This is much more affordable than buying several quarts of paint and still gives you a good idea of what the paint will look like in your home.
