Are you pressed for time? Here's an idea to make a fast, but impressive, centerpiece for your table.

Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 15 minutes or less

Here's How:

  1. Find a large decorative bowl, platter, or tray that will fit on your dining room table.
  2. Fill the container with a pile of fresh fruit (lemons, limes, tangerines, apples, etc.).
  3. Snip some leaves from your backyard and place a few around the edge of the container and a few in between the mounded fruits.
  4. If you have a few flowers from your backyard, from a houseplant, or from a florist, clip them to 3" or so and insert 6-12 stems between the fruits.
  5. Place on your table.

Tips:

  1. See the links below for photos and complete project instructions for several pretty centerpieces.
  2. Flowers out of water will only last a couple of hours, so add the just prior to your party.
  3. Decorate the table with votive candles, pillar candles, or tall tapers in pretty candleholders.
