Designer Caroline Baker dressed the Salon in the 2003 Pasadena House of Design with appealing colors and sumptuous fabrics.

Located adjacent to the home's living room, the space was once an outdoor porch that was later enclosed with six walls and tall arched windows framing pairs of charming French doors.
"The color palette I've used includes a wide range of neutrals, punctuated with touches of soft teal blue and rosy red. I carefully researched Moroccan and Spanish designs and settled on a traditional star design that was stenciled around the ceiling and into the arches of the room," Caroline said. The stenciling was distressed to give it an aged appearance.
An original terra cotta tile floor compliments the lighter-toned area rug anchoring the seating area. Overhead a dramatic chandelier adds light and sparkle.
At one end of the room a chess board is ready for play in front of windows with a breath-taking view of the grounds and the mountains beyond. Nearby sits an antique Spanish wine table under large scale wall sconces.
With an abundance of natural light, treetop views, and inviting furnishings, this space is sure to be a favorite for family lounging and entertaining.
