Designer Vicki Daeley's Guest Bedroom at the 2003 Orange County Philharmonic House of Design surely exemplifies luxurious living. Though this room is not large, its fabrics and finishings are elegant from ceiling to floor.

A wrought iron headboard frames our view of a bed dressed in silks and satins, piled high with pillows. Sunny yellow walls get a boost from pretty floral decorative painting over the window while the ceiling is framed in each corner with another pattern of decoratively painted scrollwork.

Dressing the Bed
Little red silk shades adorn the chandelier that is romantically situated over a small sitting area at the foot of the guestroom bed.

Guest Bath Sconces
While most of us might think it's enough to hang a sconce on the wall, Vicki Daeley shows us that it might be even better to dress it up with a flourish like this floral design painted onto the wall below.

Highlights of Decorative Painting
Even the narrow wall over the windows was decorated with a painted flourish. The ceiling corners have been additionally embellished with a scrolled detail.
