Q. What prompted the title of the book?
There are so many homeowners who have a desire to decorate their own space, yet they lack the time to plan and research some of the basics of how to decorate. This book offers lots of home decor ideas, as well as tried-and-true design techniques. You'll find many ideas that are easy and inexpensive. Other tips are designed to help to spark your own creative solutions for a particular project.
Q. How is it organized?
Browse 201 easy-to-read ]tips packed with ideas, solutions, how-tos, and some basic decorating principles. The first half of the book covers elements like Color, Fabric, Paint, Furniture, and Window Treatments. The rest is divided into sections for specific rooms -- Kitchens, Kids Rooms, Bathrooms, Living Rooms, and so on. The final two chapters are a fun look at using Collectibles and Vintage Decor.
Q. Are there pictures in the book?
We've selected almost ninety beautiful full-color photographs covering a wide range of decorating styles, color schemes, and looks. You can easily browse just the photos for great ideas on color, window treatments, and so forth -- no matter what room you're working on. Photos are a wonderful way to try out various looks, since you can mentally step into them for a few moments to see which elements you may want to incorporate into your home.
Q. What's in the Resources section at the end of the book?
The dramatic increase in the use of the Internet prompted me to rethink the traditional Resources section. The section includes hundreds of websites that have products, information, and inspiration on a wide variety of subjects. Look up faux painting, hardware, kids rooms, lighting, paint, slipcovers, and silk greenery to find some great resources for your home.
