Evergreen Centerpiece Tips
Watering, stripping leaves, adding candles

Fresh arrangements will last longer if they are kept properly watered. Vase arrangements can have their water changed daily to keep it sparkling and full.

Centerpieces done in oasis floral foam should be checked at least once a day. Add water if necessary to keep the foam wet so flowers and greens can continue to soak up water.

Watering Tips
Water your fresh arrangement by lifting up the leaves in one corner. Put a fingertip into the water to see how far down it is from the top of the container. Add water very slowly with a small watering can or water bottle. Leave your finger in place to feel water level, and stop adding water as it nears the top. Water daily!

Strip leaves off flowers
Stripping the leaves off the bottom of all flower stems will help keep the water fresh and make it easier to insert flowers into the foam.

Leaves removed
Run your fingers down the stem to strip off extra leaves. Photo shows stem ready to be inserted into the floral foam.

Keep candles 1 inch apart
Place candles at least 1" or more apart, so the heat from one candle won't melt the others.
