A ring canopy is a project anyone can do. It can even be a "no sew" project if you wish.
Simply select four pieces of hardware that can be attached to the ceiling. Metal rings, wooden hoops, curtain tie-backs, towel rings, and even wire can work.
Measure carefully so each ring is positioned above one corner of the bed. Install the rings with hardware that is sturdy enough for the weight of the fabric you've chosen. Lightweight sheers will look wonderful, yet you might also use cotton or silk to coordinate with the color scheme.
Before purchasing fabric take the time to measure from the floor to the ceiling, adding another 12" for hems and puddling. Multiply this measurement by 8 to get the total yardage needed. A standard eight foot ceiling will require approximately 24 yards of fabric to swag over 4 rings.
Finally, loop a long swag of fabric up and over the ring. The weight of the fabric will keep it in place. Puddle the hem as desired.

Up and Over
Loop a long length of fabric up and over a piece of hardware to create this easy canopy treatment. Draperies have been puddled on the floor for a more luxurious look.
