A crown canopy makes a dramatic statement in a room. Long fabric panels fall from under a valanced top section, making a sweep of color and style that is unforgettable.
The photos below show two variations of the crown canopy style. In one the plain fabric is on the outside of the panel while the patterned fabric (also used on the bedskirt) forms an eye-catching lining.
|
The lower photo shows hangings that place the colored fabric on the outside and the more neutral cream fabric as the liner. In this case the area of cream fabric has been made more interesting by hanging a mirror right over it.
Home sewers may be able to find ready-made crown canopy units in a home sewing store. Mount the crown-shaped unit on the wall and hang fabric from it according to the package directions.

Lined Crown Canopy with Bordered Valance Richly patterned red and cocoa fabrics have been shaped into a stunning crown bed canopy. Here the hardware has been attached to the wall so it does not interefere with the room's crown molding.
