A photograph of a Vera Wang wedding gown was the inspiration for Chloe's Suite in the Design House 2002 in Los Angeles.

Designer Julie Trewhitt-Kays notes that visitors enjoy picturing the life of a home's imaginary residents. The "story" in this room is of Chloe, the beloved daughter, newly married and off on her honeymoon. She's left behind not only her cherished wedding dress but her childhood room dressed in elegant bridal fabrics and dressmaker details. Perhaps she sat in the inviting chair located by the windows to plan the guest list and address her wedding invitations. She might have lounged among ivory silk pillows as she browsed bridal magazines looking for dresses and flowers. Everywhere in the room the lustrous fabrics take center stage -- on the bed, draperies, chair, and upholstered screen. They hold to a subtle color scheme of cream, taupe, and champagne ivory, as well as accents in blue Fortuny silk. Julie remarked that the bathroom in this suite may be of special interest. "It's a small room, probably added in the 1950's, that featured hot pink tile around the tub. This major transformation was accomplished without construction because the fixture locations, tub, and vanity remained in place." "We've retiled and repainted everything but these are basically cosmetic improvements that many homeowners might consider. Even the old oak vanity had a good location in the room so I had it decoratively painted and simply replaced the hardware."
