A little while ago I went to the home of a designer colleague and I was disappointed with what I saw. It was beautiful in its own way (exceptionally styled, beautiful items, spotlessly clean) but it felt very empty and cold. This woman had two young children but there was no evidence of them anywhere in the home. It was a showpiece, plain and simple.
While this works for some people, it's not what I think of as a home to be lived in. As far as I'm concerned a home should be a comfortable place that brings a smile to your face every time you walk in the door - and every member of the family should feel welcome.
The experience prompted me to write this article - it's all about creating a clean and classic home that everyone can enjoy, no matter what your style.

This is a great article. However, to create a house comfortable for everyone to live in one needs to shop for home decor goods at http://www.dekornation.com website
So true! I have had the same experience visiting some of my neighbours’ houses. I realised at those visits why their kids loved to be at my home. They were free to enjoy designated areas in my home without fear.
I am proud to say that I keep and always kept a clean and tidy home but there was always a play area and entertainment area where one is expected to enjoy oneself.
Thank you for the picture
