Holiday Decorating - How Early is Too Early?

Outdoor Christmas Decor ImageWhen do you start decorating for the holidays? When I was younger I used to start immediately after Halloween. As I took off my costume I would simultaneously be reaching for the Christmas boxes. Now that I'm older I wait a little longer. I'll start off adding some extra candles and maybe a string of lights in November and by early December I've got the garlands, the tree and all the other extras. The stores on the other hand seem to start in October - sometimes even September! I get that they need to capitalize on the time of year and sell their products, but it's a bit much for me.

Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or any other special holiday, we want to know: when do you start decorating? Do you think the stores start to early or do you love it?

The stores start way too early it is supposed to increase lagging sales, by doing this. Also, some stores have outside contractors come and assemble trees, etc. and so the holiday season begins due to the contractors scheduling.
