I'm a big fan of decorating with color, but I also appreciate the beauty, simplicity, and elegance of white - particularly around the holidays.
Today I came across this post from Canadian House and Home that's all about decorating for the holidays with white. This photo gallery is pretty, inspiring, and just goes to show that when done the right way a white palette can be layered, full of depth, and incredibly pretty. After browsing through you might just find yourself dreaming of a white Christmas.
Don't forget to also check out our article full of tips and ideas for decorating with white all throughout the rest of the year.

Whilst working with an interior designer this week I was given the following advice.
“Tone your Christmas decorations to match with the decor of the room. Decorate your tree in a maximum of three toning colours, making sure these match the overall colour scheme of the room. If you are unable to locate Christmas decorations in your chosen colour, decorate using white, silver and clear glass ornaments for a classy and understated look. But if you’re just starting out or want your decorations to compliment your home’s decor, you’ll find that all your Christmas decorating decisions will be easier if you start out with a specific colour scheme.”
I’m a bit fan of the whites and silvers but for my children I always keep things colourful and a bit garish…
I suppose as they get older we might come to a compromise…
