I love my home but I love my dogs more. Therefore, as much as I try, I can't resist letting them up on the furniture to cuddle with me. They've got me and my family wrapped around their little (well...big) paws and truthfully they're on the furniture more than we are. (I once actually sat on the floor so as to not disturb the dog. It's sick, I know.)
To accommodate my pushy pets I try to get furniture that will hold up against them. The fabrics I use need to be durable and able to either mask dirt and hair or be very easy to clean. With this in mind I've posted a few articles about pet friendly fabrics, not-so-pet-friendly fabrics, and tips for creating a pet friendly home.
So the question for today is: do you allow your pets on the furniture, and if so, how do you keep it looking good? What else do you do to keep your home stylish and pet friendly?

We let our dog on the furniture. To try to save our furniture, we put one dog bed on the couch in the living room and one dog bed on the couch in the rec room. She mostly gravitates to the dog beds on the couches, which helps immensely.
Good idea. Then you can move them when company comes over and not have too much vacuuming to do.
Love my dog, but I don’t let her on the furniture. The only “furniture” in the house she is allowed on is the end of my daughter’s bed and we keep an old quilt on the end that can be washed frequently to keep her bed clean.
