When my daughter and her husband bought their first house, it literally had no kitchen. Oh, there was a room, but no counters and no cabinets. There was a sink, but we had to pretty much start from scratch.

We learned quickly that just because you want a refrigerator in a certain location, it doesn't necessarily mean that that will be the best place.

When you're thinking of making major changes to your kitchen, it can be confusing knowing how to arrange appliances, cabinets, and fixtures. You can't just put things where you want them if the space won't accommodate them properly.
